Recent bad weather has meant the recycling site at Chouet headland will have to close for one day on 21 June 2012 for essential works.
Public Services Recycling Officer, Tina Norman-Ross, explained the site had to close for States Works to carry out repairs.
"The recent torrential rain has resulted in the surface becoming very potholed and uneven. We have had some negative comments from users, so we want to get in there as soon as possible and address the problem".
"If Islanders need to recycle on this day then all of the other bring banks are open. We encourage people to either wait to recycle, or use whatever other site is most convenient for them, perhaps on their way to or from work or the shops".
Mrs Norman-Ross said the works also affected access to the Chouet green waste site which would also be closed on that day.
