Tuesday 31 July 2012

On Sunday 29 July 2012, Guernsey Border Agency Officers on duty at St Peter Port Harbour seized a large quantity of what is believed to be cannabis resin which was being smuggled in a vehicle that had arrived from Poole.

The 51 year old female driver of the vehicle was arrested at the port. A 52 year old male was subsequently arrested at a local bar following further investigations.

Both individuals are due to appear in the Magistrates' Court this afternoon facing charges in relation to the importation of Cannabis Resin and Cocaine.

Whilst formal analysis of the drugs seized is being conducted, and at this stage in the investigation, it is estimated that the local street value may be in excess of £200,000.
