The newly formed States Review Committee is continuing its search for two independent members to join the Committee in carrying out a comprehensive review of the structure and functions of the legislature and government in Guernsey.
Having had its inaugural meeting, the Committee is seeking to remind prospective independent members that the deadline for application is approaching and has been extended to 24 August.
Chairman of the Committee, Deputy Peter Harwood, said:
"The Committee has now had its first meeting and has begun to interview potential candidates for the two positions of independent members to determine who it will wish to nominate for election at the September States meeting. We have been impressed by the candidates who have so far come forward, but would like to remind local candidates who may have relevant experience that the deadline for applications is approaching."
"The Committee will be starting its work in earnest in October once the two independent members are on board."

1. The Committee is seeking two independent members, who will be nominated for election at the September 2012 States meeting, to join the Chief Minister (Chairman) and four other States Members.
2. The Committee is particularly interested in people with relevant skills and experience of the structure and functions of legislatures and governments. Ex-States Members or former employees of the States are not eligible to apply.
