Applicants encouraged to respond to 2012 Planning Customer Survey

Monday 20 August 2012

The Environment Department's Planning Division is currently running its third annual customer satisfaction survey.

The continuing aim of this survey is to find out how applicants for planning permission and their agents feel about the service they have received from the Planning Division. The surveys are part of the Planning Division's on-going policy to improve the quality of services provided.

The survey started on the 15 August and will run to the end of October 2012. Between these dates, everyone receiving a decision on a planning application will be asked to complete a short survey about their experiences of working with the Planning Division.

In 2011, we started using an online survey.  We are continuing to use this method for ease and convenience.  The survey can be accessed using this link: www.surveymonkey.com/s/plansurvey2012

For applications which have not been submitted by a professional planning agent, the applicant will receive a paper survey form at the same time as the application decision.  Applicants can post it back to the Department free of charge or complete the survey online.

Director of Planning Control Services, Jim Rowles said:

"The planning customer satisfaction surveys are part of an on-going programme to improve the quality of the services provided by the Planning Division.

We would be very grateful if those receiving surveys would take some time to complete them.  We want to hear about applicants' experiences of working with the Planning Division, both positive and negative.

The comments and suggestions we receive will help us to improve the services we provide.  All comments will be carefully considered and changes will be made where this is possible."

All responses to the survey are anonymous and no personal details are required.

The Department's report on last year's customer satisfaction survey can be accessed on the States website using this link: http://www.gov.gg/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=6008&p=0
