States Members will this weekend work together to explore the medium and long-term issues facing Guernsey, at a workshop to be held as part of the government's strategic planning process.
All States Members have been invited to attend the workshop meeting, which is being hosted by the Policy Council at Les Cotils on Saturday 10 November.
The workshop will allow all States Members to work together to develop a political 'direction of travel' for this States term, which will form the basis of the States Strategic Plan to be debated by the Assembly in March next year.
The Chief Minister, Deputy Peter Harwood, said:
"Every jurisdiction faces challenges, and Guernsey is no exception, but what is important is how as a government we respond to them. This workshop is an opportunity for States Members to discuss the issues facing Guernsey looking forward over the next two decades and, crucially, to work together to consider how these can best be tackled.
From the Policy Council point of view, the event is very much focused on providing an opportunity for individual States Members to be integrally involved in the strategic thinking and planning process. The Ministers will be listening to their colleagues' views and sharing their own understanding of the issues".
