Another lucky household has won £2,000 in the second of four quarterly prize draws open to Household Expenditure Survey participants. Five runners up also received prizes of £100 each.
The top prize winner said,
"I was completely shocked and extremely delighted to have won this prize, particularly as I had forgotten about it. Initially I thought filling in the forms a bit daunting but it was easier than expected and the two weeks went by very quickly. I'm really glad I did it!"
Two similar draws will be held at regular intervals throughout the remaining six months of the survey. Those wishing to participate in the survey and be eligible for entry into one of the remaining prize draws should contact Michaela de Vial at Island Analysis on 716227 or michaela@islandanalysis.com for more information.
Participating households are asked to complete a set of questionnaires, including one in which they keep a diary of their daily expenditure for 14 days. Households submitting completed forms to Island Analysis by the deadline set for each quarter will be included in the prize draw for that period.
Dr Andy Sloan, States Economist said:
"This survey is very important and we would like to encourage as many households as possible to take part. The data collected is key to ensuring that the inflation indices (RPI and PRIX) continue to be accurate measures of the changes in the costs experienced by local households. These measures are the most widely used statistics produced in Guernsey and maintaining their integrity is essential.
There will be two more prize draws, so if you are still to submit your completed forms or wish to participate in the future, please get in touch with Island Analysis."
The RPI and RPIX measures are used by both by private individuals, for revising payments such as rents and child maintenance; and by the States for budgeting expenditure and setting tax allowances and benefit rates. The data will also be used to compile a range of social and economic statistics which will help inform States debate and decisions
The survey is conducted on a confidential basis using unique identification numbers, and no personal information is shared.
