The Scrutiny Committee has today issued the terms of reference for its review into the non-disclosure of information by the Home Department in relation to the settlement with AFR Advocates.
The Committee has issued an invitation to the Minister of the Home Department to give evidence at a public hearing, the date of which will be confirmed shortly.
The review is being undertaken by a panel of Committee members, chaired by Scrutiny Committee Chairman, Alderney Representative Paul Arditti.
Mr Arditti said:
"There are many important issues arising out of the AFR matter, however, the Committee has decided that the way the Home Department has handled its obligations to transparency is the most important concern".
"This is clearly an urgent matter and the panel and its staff will do everything they can to bring this hearing forward at the earliest opportunity, and we trust that the Home Department will treat this important matter with equal urgency".
The Committee continues to welcome any evidence that members of the public may be able to provide, to assist the panel in the course of its investigations. Evidence should be submitted in writing to scrutiny@gov.gg
