The Environment Department has been advised that bus drivers have decided to strike on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
The reason for the strike action is believed to relate to a dispute over working conditions and CT Plus has informed the Environment Department that it will be talking to the drivers and Union representatives today in an attempt to avoid strike action taking place.
In the event that strike action goes ahead the Environment Department will work with CT Plus to ascertain whether a skeleton bus service can be maintained. Priority will be given to operating dedicated school bus services. However, until such time as CT Plus has had an opportunity to discuss matters with its staff it is unclear to what degree services will be affected.
The Environment Department and CT Plus will ensure that the public are kept informed of developments in this regard.
