Guernsey's Chief Minister Deputy Peter Harwood today met with the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Roger Gifford, and Jersey's Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst.

The meeting took place in Jersey, and included representatives from Guernsey and Jersey, led by the two Chief Ministers.

Later in the day the Lord Mayor also met with business representatives from Guernsey and Jersey, attended by Fiona Le Poidevin, the Chief Executive of Guernsey Finance; and Peter Mills, Chairman of GIBA (the Guernsey International Business Association).

Deputy Harwood said:

"It was a pleasure to meet with the Lord Mayor and discuss the strong relationship between the City of London and Guernsey and the Channel Islands. The City and Guernsey share many of the same challenges and many of the same opportunities, and today we agreed to continue to work closely together."
