The supply of travel vaccines is becoming problematic due to shortage of stock in the UK. Since July 2013 there have been issues with the supply of Yellow Fever and Typhoid vaccines. Interruptions in supply are nationwide and will last until January 2014 at the earliest.
This is an important consideration if you are planning to travel to a long haul destination where vaccinations are or might be required.
The HSSD is therefore strongly advising that before booking any trip to a destination where travel vaccinations are required, you should make contact with your GP to check the availability of the necessary vaccines and to make arrangements to receive them.
