Media enquiry from Mark Inchley, BBC Guernsey
Please could you tell me what progress has been made on the decision over whether or not the department will be withdrawing its contract with Jersey Met Office.
Environment Department's response:
The Environment Department has written to all other departments of the States to ascertain the level of support that exists for the present arrangement in regard to community Met Services. Two responses are still awaited, but the Environment Department Board has, anyway, considered the matter and will shortly be making contact with the Policy Council to ascertain the most equitable way forward. It is expected that a final decision on the matter will be made early in the New Year.
