In line with the recommendations of the Milk Price Review Panel the Commerce and Employment Department has approved an increase in the fixed retail price of Guernsey Dairy milk that will take effect on Sunday 5 October 2014.
The new retail prices , which apply to all retail milk sales, be they in shops or on doorsteps, will become:-
Skimmed, semi-skimmed, & full cream - Litre packs 112 pence
Half litres - (types as above) 64 pence
Organic Milk - Half litres 82 pence
All price increases are well below RPI changes over the last 12 months.
The price changes implement, in full, recommendations from the independent Milk Price Review Panel which met in July and considered submissions from the key dairy industry stakeholder groups.
