Last November the Environment Department installed a temporary filter-in-turn traffic management system at the junction of L'Abbaye and Route de L'Ancresse in an effort to improve safety for vehicles emerging from Ville Baudu and to ease congestion of queuing traffic in L'Abbaye.
As a result of a review of the measure, the Department concluded that the traffic management system achieved its objective and has therefore decided to make the arrangement permanent.
The Environment Department's Minister Deputy Yvonne Burford said:
"The Department is pleased that the trial has been successful in reducing traffic speed heading south along Route de L'Ancresse on approach to the Ville Baudu junction and in significantly reducing traffic delays along L'Abbaye"
