Update on the Planning Inquiry public hearing timetable

The public hearings for the Planning Inquiry into the Draft Island Development Plan commenced on Tuesday 6 October 2015 at 9:30 at Les Cotils Centre, St. Peter Port.

The topics set down for discussion on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October 2015, namely:

-            Agricultural priority Areas

-            Agriculture and Horticulture outside of the Centres

-            Important Open Land

-            Sites of Special Significance

-            Areas of Biodiversity Importance

took less time than initially anticipated.  It was possible to hear all the oral submissions from the representors who had asked to appear during the course of the public hearing on Tuesday 6 October 2015.

Therefore, the Planning Inspectors will not be sitting tomorrow, Wednesday 7th October 2015.

The public hearings will recommence on Thursday 8th October 2015 and will hear oral submissions from the Environment Department and the representors who have asked to appear in person on the following matters:

-            Visitor Accommodation

-            Visitor Economy

-            Leisure and Recreation

-       Redundant Glasshouse Sites

Discussions will commence by considering matters of principle and then move onto consideration of specific sites referred to in Initial and Further Representations

Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October 2015

-       Affordable Housing

Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd October 2015

-       Housing in the Main centres

Discussions on Thursday 22nd October 2015 will focus on the sites in the St. Sampson Main Centre and those on Friday 23rd October 2015 on the sites in the St. Peter Port Main Centre

Tuesday 10th November 2015 and Wednesday 11th November

Venue - 10th November - Carol Hindes Room and 11th November - Henry Tupper Room, Les Cotils

Discussions will commence by considering matters of principle and the boundaries as proposed in the Draft IDP and then move onto consideration of Initial and Further Representations relating to additional Local Centres
