The Environment Department has recently made some minor changes to un/loading and parking arrangements at South Quay and The Bridge, St Sampsons and North Side, Vale, in order to provide improved arrangements for deliveries at all times of the day.
The changes were in response to concerns raised by the Police regarding the inappropriate use of footpaths and build-outs for parking of delivery vehicles.
During the public consultation period in advance of the above changes concerns were raised about a lack of long-term parking in the area following Guernsey Harbours decision to revert the majority of La Crocq Pier to maritime uses as opposed to the unofficial parking that had been taking place. In response to this, the Department identified that some short term disc parking to the south of Guernsey Electricity's premises on North Side and also in the triangle of parking just to the east of this is under-utilised. In light of this, the Department has agreed to re-zone 27 parking spaces from 2-hour to 10-hour disc spaces. These changes will take place with effect from Thursday 1 October.
