Charitable Organisations
Any charity based in the Bailiwick of Guernsey can join the Association of Guernsey Charities (the joining fee is currently £10). There are currently 282 members.
The Association is not a regulatory body but can be used as a central point of contact with its membership and for consultations on behalf of the sector.
The Association's website www.charity.org.gg provides details of all member charities (with links to their own websites if applicable). Charities can be viewed by category as well as name. The information includes a brief summary of the member charity's activities and contact details where these are available. The site also includes useful guidance and information for charities and voluntary organisations.
The Association of Guernsey Charities is also responsible for the distribution of money from the Channel Island Christmas Lottery. Most years, however, the amount of money available is less than a third of the total requested by the charities.
