Accommodation Services

The Learning Disability Accommodation Service supports people with diverse support requirements in a variety of locations and settings around the island and in some off island placements.

In Guernsey, people with learning disabilities have the same housing options as the general population with access to Housing Association properties, States Housing Department properties, private rentals, supported housing, long stay residential care and nursing homes.

There are seven Health and Social Services Department long stay care environments for people with a learning disability. These are in various locations around the island and mostly with good access to bus route, shops and other community facilities. These properties primarily provide 24 hour supported housing for people. Other service users living in their own homes access support as it is required.

The Accommodation Service Teams support people by working closely with members of the Community Learning Disability Team, the Positive Behaviour Support Team, service users, families, and carers.
