Flooding
The method of reporting flooding will depend on where the flooding is happening as well as the nature of the incident.
Emergency cases of flooding should be reported in the first instance to the Public Service Department. Telephone 717000 during office hours or States Works on 724491 (Emergency calls out of hours).
- Coastal Flooding as a result of blocked storm drains can be reported to the States Works as an emergency, however, this is usually unnecessary as there is a regular and established programme for dealing with such events.
- Flooding resulting from blocked surface drains for example in roads or public should be reported in the first instance to the Public Services Department
- Flooding of streams or douits on land managed by the Environment Department eg. Commons and coastal path areas should be reported to the Environment Department (TEL: 717200) during office hours and States Works out of hours.
- Flooding of streams or douits on private property should be reported in the first instance to the parish authority. The Parish Contact list is at the bottom of this page
