The Guernsey Police 'Blue Lamp Club' will hand over £2,000 for the Environment Department's Saumarez Park Playground appeal on Monday 12 March.
The Blue Lamp Club raises money each year through the profits from the Police headquarters tuck shop, cake bakes and an autumn ball and divides the proceeds between several good causes.
Anita Jones, organiser of the Blue Lamp Club, said:
"Saumarez Park is an attractive place for islanders and visitors and the playground is very popular. Many of the staff and Police officers have children who love the playground and we're glad to be able to support the appeal to rebuild it."
Deputy Jenny Tasker, Deputy Minister for Environment, said
"We were delighted to hear the Police wanted to support the Playground appeal through the Blue Lamp Club. Raising £500,000 for the rebuild is a big challenge but we're determined to do our best to have the new playground built as soon as possible."
The new plans for Saumarez Park playground were unveiled in January at the launch of the appeal to rebuild the new playground. Anyone interested in supporting the Playground Appeal is welcome to contact the Environmental Services Unit, env@gov.gg or call 717200.
