Monday 19 March 2012
Environment Department response to media enquiry from Guernsey Press.
Enquiry:
A Guernsey Press reporter asked: "Can I just check if there have been any complaints about the election posters that have gone up?"
Response:
The Exemptions Ordinance effectively grants planning permission for election signs from the time that nominations for the election open (Monday 12 March) and all signs need to be removed after the election. There is no limit on the size or number and if a complaint were received, no action could be taken before 19 April 2012. The Environment Department has not received any complaints at present.
