Michael Arthur William Le Huray, a 39 year old local male appeared before the Guernsey Royal Court on Monday 19th March where he pleaded guilty to 3 separate counts of importing the Class B Controlled Drug Mephedrone.
On the 19 May 2011, Officers of the Guernsey Border Agency intercepted a parcel addressed to Le Huray's home address which on inspection was found to contain 376 packets of Dove Tablets, which contained the Mephedrone. Each packet contained 4 Tablets which equated 1,504 Tablets in total.
Le Huray was subsequently arrested. The resultant investigation identified that Le Huray's address had been utilised on earlier occasions in 2011 to import at least 2,000 Dove Tablets. The investigation also identified that Le Huray's role had been minor and limited to allowing his premises to be utilised as a delivery address.
Le Huray was sentenced on the basis that he had been concerned in the importation of 3,504 Mephedrone Tablets which had a local street value of between £52,560 and £70,808.
He was sentenced to 3 years 6 months imprisonment for each of the 3 importations which are to run concurrently. Le Huray's sentence is to run from the date of his remand in Custody.
