Environment Department response to media enquiry from Guernsey Press.
Guernsey Press enquiry:
I am following up on some queries from a reader about changes that have been going on above Ian Brown's and whether it had planning permission.
I understand a flat has been changed to offices and is now being used by CT Plus.
Can I check if this is correct?
I have some building control details related to the property but not any change of use applications from planning. Can I find out why?
Can I also check if this building belongs to the States? If so, how does the department ensure that it has not got a conflict of interest when it comes to a planning application for a property used by a bus company it is working with?
Response:
Planning Permission to use the Ian Brown site for bus parking and for change of use of the flat to ancillary offices was granted in November 2006 and was implemented.
The Department's approach to probity issues when dealing with planning applications is explained in the propriety guidance on the website.
This applies to applications made by other States departments and by other sections of the Environment Department.
