St Peter Port street

The Finance Sector Group [FSG] was set up in April 2005 as the successor to the Finance Industry Policy Advisory Group [FIPAG]. The FSG is continuing to progress the work streams of the FIPAG and to act as the principal forum for the initiation of the development and promotion of Guernsey’s finance sector.

The Work of the Group

The change from FIPAG to FSG marked the change of membership of the Group to include politicians (the Chief Minister and the minister and Deputy Minister of Commerce and Employment) and to coincide with the evolution of the Finance Sector Development Team at Commerce and Employment. It is hoped that development, legislative and promotional issues can be progressed (at a political level where necessary) for the advancement of the finance sector.

With the aim of providing and interface between the States of Guernsey and the Financial services sector on the Island, the membership of the Group consists of politicians, civil servants and industry representatives. The Group meets monthly at Sir Charles Frossard House to discuss a variety of topics relating to the mandate of the group.
