Sea Fisheries

Sea Fisheries is a Commerce and Employment Department based at Raymond Falla House.  There are five members of staff:

Senior Sea Fisheries Officer - Jon Torode
Sea Fisheries Officer - Chris Morris  

Assistant Sea Fisheries Officer- David Wilkinson
Assistant Sea Fisheries Officer - Mike Harris
Assistant Sea Fisheries Officer - Andrew Innes.

Our role is varied and includes:

  • Administration of the fisheries licensing regime for all British registered fishing vessels
  • Enforcing fisheries legislation on land and at sea
  • Compiling catch and effort statistics on the fishing industry
  • Administration of imports and exports of aquaculture products
  • Day to Day liaison with industry members and other local Government Departments
