Arts Development
Guernsey is fortunate to have a wide range of arts activities available with a large number of local arts organisations staging diverse and exciting programmes.
About us
The appointment in 2005 of an Arts Development Officer, and then an Arts Development Assistant in 2007, enabled the Culture and Leisure Department to put together and develop as Arts Development Strategy for the Island, embracing a wide variety of cultural activites, multi-cultural events, and exhibitions in partnership with other local bodies.
The success of events such as, Arts Alive and Arts Outside has created a flagship event for the local arts community, and acts as a statement of intent by arts development.
In addition, the creation of the greenhouse (the gallery/exhibition space located in the Guernsey Information Centre) in 2006 has addressed the problem of a lack of exhibition/workshop facilities in the centre of Town. More information on this can be found in the greenhouse section of the website.
