Arts Alive is a celebration of the arts in Guernsey, involving many groups and individuals from across the arts spectrum, from visual art to dance, audio-visual to drama, and music to crafts.
In 2007, the event was organised by the Culture and Leisure Department in association with Healthy Direct and Creed PR, and took place on the 17th and 18th February at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre. The event was a tremendous success, and built on the foundations laid by Arts Alive 06. It featured:
- Up to 50 stalls for use by local arts groups, giving them an opportunity to inform the public as to what's on offer in the local arts scene
- A stage performance programme running through the majority of the two days
- Workshops and demonstrations of many of the arts disciplines
- Diverse entertainment and information throughout the David Ferguson Hall and the Concourse.
On the 'Downloads' menu, you will find a selection of images from the 07 event, plus a analysis of feedback from those who took part in the event.
Arts Alive will be held biennially from now on (next event in 2009), which will allow further themes to be introduced, and will offer more opportunities for local arts groups. If you have not been involved in Arts Alive yet, but would like to play a part in the 2009 event, please contact Joanna Littlejohns, Arts Development Officer, on 749258, or by e-mail at info@artsdevelopment.gg
