Determination of planning applications in accordance with the provisions of the Island Development Laws and the aims and policies of the statutory Plans (Strategic and Corporate Plan, Urban Area Plan and Rural Area Plan).

Specific Tasks

• Processing of planning applications, including applications related to Protected Buildings, and dealing with related matters such as appeals.
  
  
• Provision of advice and information to the public and others regarding development control matters, including pre-application advice, information regarding Use Classes and Exemptions from planning control and file searches related to the conveyancing of property.
  
  
• Investigation and enforcement action in relation to contraventions of the planning laws.
