Law Consultation

The Land Planning & Development (Guernsey) Law, 2005

The new planning Law has been passed by the States and has received Royal Assent, but will not come into force until the States has agreed the complete package of essential Ordinances to implement it.

The Environment Department is committed to consulting on all the Ordinances. The following four Ordinances are part of a series of eight and deal with Plans, General Provisions, Environmental Impact Assessment and Use Classes. There will be consultation at a later date on the enforcement of planning control, appeals and special controls.

Householder exemptions were the subject of consultation earlier this year and consultation on non-domestic exemptions, to complete the exemptions Ordinance, will follow.

The consultation period for the four most recent documents ends on 16 September 2006.
