National Accounts
Guernsey's Gross Domestic Product
National Accounting is the method used by governments to determine the overall wealth of the nation. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the value of Island output (wages plus profits and other local income) and can be viewed as the total of consumer and States spending plus business investment.
The Guernsey Annual Economics Overview, available on the right hand-side of this page, includes the first official release of the 2008 National Accounts statistics and incorporates analysis disaggregated by economic sector.
The Overview also presents a variety of other economic indicators, including inflation, house price and labour market information, together with forecasts for GDP and inflation.
