JOHN NIKOLAS VAN LEUVEN, QC. MA. Born Guernsey 1947. Educated Elizabeth College, Guernsey; Trinity Hall, Cambridge; and the Université de Caen.
Called to English Bar November 1970, Inner Temple. Called to Guernsey Bar July 1971. Appointed HM Procureur (Attorney General) of Guernsey October 2002. Appointed Queen’s Counsel October 2002. Appointed HM Receiver General October 2002.
Joined Guernsey law firm in 1971 which became Ozannes. Senior Partner 1983 to September 2002. Practiced principally in trust, company and commercial law. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Member of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences.

HOWARD EDWARD ROBERTS, QC, MA (Cantab.) Born 1956. Educated at Cheadle Mosely Grammar School; Gonville and Caius College Cambridge; the Inns of Court School of Law, London, and the Université de Caen, France. Called to the English Bar, Middle Temple, 1978 and to the Guernsey Bar, 1988. Appointed Queen’s Counsel, 2000.
Practised general common law until joining the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in London as a Legal Assistant in 1980. Came to Guernsey in 1983 as a Legislative Draftsman; appointed Guernsey’s first Crown Advocate in 1990; and as HM Comptroller (Solicitor General) and HM Deputy Receiver General for Guernsey in 1999.
