Corporate Services

The Corporate Services Directorate deals with a wide and diverse range of services on behalf of the Department. These include:

  • Managing the corporate governance agenda;
  • Responsibility for the site development plan;
  • Responsibility for the complaints system;
  • Leading on service user involvement;
  • Managing the legislative programme for the Department;
  • Dealing with litigation and insurance issues;
  • Providing advice on the development and use of corporate policies;
  • Acting as the focal point for internal and external communication;
  • Managing the Health Quality Service accreditation programme;
  • Registering and inspecting nursing and residential homes, nurseries and childminders;
  • Leading on health and safety issues within the Department;
  • Leading on general risk management processes and systems;
  • Providing administrative support to key committees within the Department, such as the Board, Ethical Committee, Medical Advisory Committee and the Corporate Management Team;
  • Managing the fabric and estate of the Department through the Estates Department;
  • Delivering a range of support services, essential to the delivery of health and social care, such as: housekeeping and domestic; catering; transport; portering and security; reprographics; telephony; laundry.
  • Liaising with the hospital chaplains.
