Can I claim back my VAT?
Bailiwick residents who purchase goods in the UK and bring them back to the island can use the VAT Retail Export Scheme (RES) to obtain a VAT refund. Traders who operate the RES have a supply of forms (VAT 407) and will complete it on request. The VAT 407 form must be stamped by and left with HM Revenue and Customs in the UK who will return the forms to the trader to arrange for the refund to be made. Any questions or comments concerning the UK VAT Retail Export Scheme should be directed to HM Revenue & Customs on 0845 010 9000.
