Police Constables
Officers are generally recruited locally. Applicants have to be of good character, aged between 18.5 - 50, and have a reasonable standard of fitness.
There is no height restriction. Applicants sit an entrance examination and attend an extended interview.
Successful candidates are now trained on island. In addition you will experience one week off island on team building exercises to develop Police based skills.
Whilst a member of the Force, medical expenses are covered and a contribution is made towards the cost of dental work.
Upon joining, the annual leave entitlement is 22 working days, which increases with length of service.
Personnel development is encouraged throughout an officer’s service, with many training/management courses provided.
