Information for parents, guardians and supporting adults

Whilst it is usually adults who are sentenced to Community Service Orders, they can also be made on child offenders. The Probation Service has extra procedures in place when supervising Orders made on offenders under eighteen, who are considered to be “child offenders”.

The conditions of the Order are the same for child offenders, but the Probation Service takes extra steps to protect their interests and will keep parents, guardians or supporting adults informed of all developments in their child’s case.

A leaflet explaining more about Community Service Orders made on child offenders can be downloaded from the box opposite.
