Taxi Services
Taxi fares are at a higher rate overnight, from 10pm to 7am (7pm to 7am on Saturday and Sundays), and on Public Holidays. The tariff will also depend on how many passengers are to be carried, and a small charge is made for extra baggage.

In the event that there are no taxi's available at the Harbour, a free phone is available within the terminal building to call taxis from the Weighbridge taxi rank, just a couple of minutes away.

Licensing of taxis
Taxi operators are licensed by the Environment Department and must abide by the conditions of their road service licence. This includes ensuring drivers observe a Code of Conduct. Further information about the licensing of these services is explained in the Department's annual publication of its Policy Statement entitled 'Taxi and Private Hire Service Licences', copies of which are available from its offices at Bulwer Avenue and can be downloaded above.
Before a person can drive a taxi, they must obtain a Public Service Vehicle Permit (PSV Permit). Information on obtaining a permit to drive a taxi is available by following the link 'Driving a PSV'.
