Its role is to provide a ‘picture’ of Guernsey’s sustainability in terms of how the Island’s community, economy and environment are faring. The purpose of this document is to continue reporting changes in trends on a wide range of indicators. It is an information “tool” to be used in the formulation of policy, including the new Government Business Plan and the monitoring of policy outcomes at a strategic level.

In the future, it is intended that an additional ‘management style’ report will be published, containing performance indicators reflecting Government Business Plan outcomes. These will have an operational focus and represent the results of actions promoted through the Plan, particularly the progress being made in pursuing States Priority objectives.
