A combined Bailiwick Drug & Alcohol Strategy has been running from 2007. The primary aim of this Strategy is "to minimise the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse by Bailiwick residents of all ages".
Drug Concern is a local charity which provides services to people affected by substance misuse.
The Guernsey Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council is a voluntary service to help clients overcome their alcohol and drug problems. They offer one to one counselling sessions, which are free of charge, and a Rehabilitation Dry House. This is a safe environment for people to start rebuilding their lives, alcohol free. GADAC is part of the Bailiwick Drug & Alcohol Strategy.
In the UK, an organisation called Substance creates credible and unique drug and alcohol harm reduction and public health publications, resources and social marketing campaigns. Members of the substance team have over 25 years experience of producing campaigns and publications that improve health, reduce crime and bring about positive social change.
