Legislation Select Committee
The Legislation Select Committee sits monthly, usually on the first Monday afternoon of the month, to review and revise those Projects de Loi and draft Ordinances that are presented to the Committee by the Law Officers of the Crown and for the purpose of ensuring that they are in accordance with the Resolutions of the States from which they arose.
In addition the Committee is also required, when necessary, to scrutinise schemes for the application of certain General Synod measures
The Committee is also empowered in its own right and in certain defined circumstances to bring ordinances into effect.
The Committee is clerked by HM Greffier or one of his deputies.
