The Parole Review Committee is an independent body which is administered by the Office of the Committee for Home Affairs
The Parole Review Committee is an independent body, non-political and non-judicial.
The Chair is appointed by the States and Members are appointed by the Royal Court. Committee Members are selected from all walks of life so as to be representative of the community.
The purpose of the Parole Review Committee is to undertake rigorous and comprehensive risk assessments in a consistent, equitable and efficient manner which will inform the Committee's decision on the early release of prisoners. The objectives of the Parole Review Committee are to:
- To protect the public;
- To prevent re-offending;
- To ensure the prisoner's successful re-integration into the community.
