Social Security
The Department provides social security benefits across the full lifetime of our resident islanders, to migrant workers living in our community and to our pensioners living overseas. Our work helps to meet the aims of the States Social Policy. The Social Security Department is one of ten States of Guernsey Departments who work together to provide public services.
The Department is mainly responsible for the collection of Social Security contributions and the day to day running of the States' contributory Social Insurance Scheme, contributory Health Insurance Scheme, contributory Long-term Care Insurance Scheme and the States' non-contributory schemes, but a full overview of its responsibilities can be found on the right hand side of this page.
