States Legislative Programme
The Policy Council is responsible for prioritising the States Legislative Programme. This means establishing the order in which new laws, ordinances, regulations etc that have been approved in principle by the States will be formally drafted by the government's lawyers.
In determining relative priorities, the Policy Council is advised by a Prioritisation of Legislation Working Group comprising HM Procureur, HM Comptroller, the Director of Legislative Drafting and the Chief and Deputy Chief Executives of the States.
The latest information about the Legislative Programme is available to download below. It consists of the several schedules that have been approved by the Policy Council. Please bear in mind, however, that managing the process of legal drafting is a continuous and complex activity and that schedules can only describe the position reached at a point in time.
