'Deputy Haskins has proven himself to be an excellent Committee member during the last two-plus years. He is a real team player, demonstrates a high level of understanding on our complex and wide-ranging mandate, and already has experience as a Vice-President, on the Committee for the Environment & Infrastructure. I am looking forward to continuing working closely with him in his new role within the Committee.'
Deputy Sam Haskins, Vice-President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, said:
'I am very pleased to have been elected by the Committee to fill the role vacated by Deputy Bob Murray. I remain extremely committed to the Committee and thoroughly enjoy the breadth of its diverse mandate. I recognise that the role brings with it additional responsibilities and commitments, particularly as I will now assume the role of Chair of the Interim Governance Board for a number of educational settings.'
