More patients in the Princess Elizabeth hospital have been given the opportunity to stay in touch with loved ones thanks to a generous donation of iPads from the Association of Guernsey Banks.

Graham Thoume Chairman of the Association of Guernsey Banks said:

'The Association of Guernsey Banks has proudly donated 6 iPads in support of extremely worthy local Guernsey community project: #StayConnected.

The #StayConnected initiative is a partnership project between various local charities and organisations, including the 'Association of Guernsey Charities', and 'We All Matter, Eh?' (The members voice of the Guernsey Disability Alliance).

The initiative aims to keep older and more vulnerable Islanders connected to family and friends during these COVID impacted times, whether they are in isolation, shielding or in hospital, care homes and supported living home environments.

The Association is delighted to be able to support the community in these difficult times.'

Philippa Le Vasseur, Lead Nurse Emergency Care and Outpatients said:

'Patients in the hospital have not been allowed visitors for some time now and we know that this is very challenging for those wish to stay in touch with their loved ones.

The donation of these iPads means that we can connect family and friends at a time when they are at their most vulnerable and are impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.'
