Guernsey Press Enquiry:
In regard to our conversation please can the department provide an update as to how the work on La Valette Road went, what the purpose of the work was, when it will be needed again, when it was completed and any other information it would like to provide.
This is planned in for tomorrow's paper, so if you can please respond today by 4pm, I would be grateful. Can you also please acknowledge receipt of this email.
Environment Department Response:
Vegetation growing through the rock catch fencing was cut back by hand by States Works staff using a cherrypicker. This routine maintenance is undertaken every two years and was completed on schedule.
(Please note there was no rope work involved. If the GP uses photographs from work in previous years to illustrate an article, the Environment Department would be happy to confirm if the old photograph is relevant to the situation.)
