Update - Parking Clocks

Thursday 06 March 2014

BBC Radio Guernsey Enquiry:

We will be considering the cost and who benefits from the sale.

I should be grateful if you could let me know how much the Environment Department takes from each sale and how the money is then used.

As always someone from the Department who can speak on the matter is preferred.

Environment Department Response:

The Environment Department sells parking clocks to individual callers at Bulwer Avenue at £2.50 per clock. In 2013 the gross income from clock sales was in the order of £24,000. The costs of those sales (excluding administration charges, storage etc) was £7,000. The £17,000 net income constitutes part of the Departments revenue income and hence forms part of the overall Department budget available to fund any of the Departments activities.
