The Environment Department is committed under the Integrated Transport Strategy to increase both the frequency and number of routes operated as part of the Island's Scheduled Bus Services Network. Following extensive public consultation of the past three years and as a result of the recently tendered bus contract, the Environment Department is pleased to announce further enhancements and improvements to the forthcoming Summer 2015 Bus Timetable, effective from Monday 4 May 2015.
Continuation of recently introduced services
The recently introduced hourly Parish Link 'P1' service connecting outlying communities in St. Saviour's and Castel not previously on the network with local amenities (such as supermarkets, banks and post offices) and bus hubs at the Airport / Vazon using a dedicated smaller vehicle and hourly Routes 32 and 52 services to complement existing services on the Routes 31 and 51 respectively, are being carried through to the Summer timetable.
In addition, the Route 71 will continue to serve the Ville au Roi in both directions between the PEH and Town and the Routes 51 and 52 now also serve Rectory Hill and Rohais de Haut in both directions.
New Routes
A further two additional bus routes, one for the North of the Island and one for the South West have been added. As from Monday 4 May 2015 the following new services will operate:
- A new Route 22 providing alternative hourly services with the previously half-hourly Route 21 to provide a direct link to and from Town via Route Militaire / Vale Church;
- A new Route 94 providing alternative hourly services with the previously hourly Route 93 to provide direct links to and from Town via the Airport and St. Martin's from L'Eree Hill and Longfrie together with a convenient link to local amenities in St. Peter's and Forest for residents of Forest, St. Peter's and Torteval.
Some changes

- Route 81 now has a year-round half-hour frequency;
- Routes 12, 41 and 52 serving 'key corridor' routes now have pre 07:00 (Mon to Fri) and pre 08:00 (Sat) arrivals in Town;

- Route 11 has now been split into two separate routes with the northern half of the service (from Town - L'Ancresse) remaining as the Route 11 and the southern half of the service (from Town - Airport) being renumbered as the Route 95;
- Route 31 now returns to Town via Le Bouet and Glategny Esplanade with the Route 32 retaining connections between Beau Sejour and Town;

Better Information
The Environment Department is pleased to announce that on 4 May CT Plus will be introducing a new travel planning website, with map-based journey planning tools, personal timetables and more besides. The site will also be set up for easy viewing on smart phones for information on the move. It is further anticipated that a much awaited app with real-time information will be available (in beta testing format initially) shortly after new ticket machines are introduced in July.
Looking ahead
There are a host of other new developments still to come within the next twelve months, including new smartcards that enable a range of new products, a chance to choose a new bus livery and new and refurbished buses.
You can keep up to date with what's happening and explore full details of the new Summer 2015 timetable on the buses website, www.buses.gg
New timetables will also be available from today at the Bus Terminus, Airport, Tourist Information Bureau and on board buses. In addition, a flyer announcing the key changes to the new timetable and looking ahead to some exciting developments on the bus service is being delivered to all households over the next week.
