The European Communities (Implementation of Food and Feed Controls) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2016, was approved by the States in 2011. The draft legislation aims to ensure that all aspects of the food chain are safe, to improve food hygiene standards and to reduce the risk of food poisoning. The draft legislation includes controls to ensure the traceability of food, imports and exports of food, the hygiene of food and premises, and the feed provided for farm animals used for food.
