    • Pet food can be imported into Guernsey from a Member State of the European Union without a licence, provided that it complies with the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1774/2002.
    • Pet food produced in other countries and territories can be imported into Guernsey without a licence provided that it comes from an EU approved establishment, complies with EU requirements regarding production and has first been imported through an EU Border Inspection Post.

  • Other Animal Feed

    • Other animal feed can be imported into Guernsey from another Member State of the European Union without a licence, provided that it comes from an establishment that complies with EU requirements and has also been produced and subject to official controls according to EU requirements.
    • Other animal feed produced in other countries and territories can be imported into Guernsey without a licence provided that it comes from an EU approved establishment, complies with EU requirements regarding production and has first been imported through an EU Border Inspection Post.

  • Medicated Animal Feeds

    • Animal feeds that contain veterinary medicines are subject to different requirements.  Follow this link for further information.
  • Importing animal bedding

    • Hay, straw and litter can be imported into the Island from Alderney, Sark, Jersey, the Isle of Man or a Member State of the European Union without a licence provided that the country or territory from which it is imported is not subject to foot and mouth disease restrictions.
