For the work of the States of Guernsey to succeed it requires continuous engagement from and with the public. Via the internet, newspaper or other media, local people need to be kept informed.

Marketing can involve promoting available services, new initiatives or internal communications or responding to media enquires and marketing the island to tourists and businesses.

Communications has a strong focus on media and public relations. Responsibilities in this area include, but are not limited to, responding to local and national media enquiries, writing media releases and managing the States of Guernsey social media pages and website.  Other responsibilities may also include arranging official visits, speaking with trade partners, facilitating new trade and working with other jurisdictions.

Working across the States of Guernsey, roles in Marketing and Communications require imagination, enthusiasm and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
