The Household Expenditure Survey is repeated once every 5 to 7 years to collect data on the expenditure patterns of households in Guernsey.
The primary function of the Survey is to provide data for the weighting of the Guernsey inflation indices (the Retail Prices Indices: RPI, RPIX and RPIY) to ensure that they remain an accurate reflection of costs incurred by local households. The Report also provides a useful resource for social and economic research.
The latest Survey was undertaken from May 2018 to April 2019 (see www.gov.gg/hes) and the results are available from www.gov.gg/household).
